RedBull

Perhaps I'm a bit partial because RedBull was my first energy drink (yes, I lost my virginity to RedBull) or maybe its just how much marketing RedBull puts into their product. Maybe its the crazy extreme sport events RedBull sponsors that I like -- which in turn I expect makes me favor the product well. Regardless of the reason, I love RedBull.

It tastes like spiked apple juice, it really does. Most people I know hate it so luckily, nobody drinks my supply so at nearly $3 per can, It lasts as long as I want it to. I suppose that is just convinient that nobody I know likes it, since RedBull considers their main competition the likes of Coke and Pepsi. Yes, RedBull is a worldwide product with millions of customers that love it as much as I do. Oh yeah, and it really does "work" -- one can is usually enough to make me wired enough to do my work efficiently and quickly.

There's a lot of studies and literature coming out raising the question of whether such energy drinks are good for you, but nothing I have read has been conclusive. No doubt the funding for these studies comes from the likes of Coke and Pepsi, looking to knock out the competition based on the most recent health-craze in America.

I suppose the only thing I can think of that takes away from the greatness of RedBull is its dehydrating effects (caffiene for one, does this) so you have to drink a lot of water to keep your natural hydration levels normal. Otherwise, headaches and dehydration may result. Oh, and RedBull has been known to make me very moody and generally a jerk to everyone around me -- but maybe that's not the drink's fault.
